Flow
The term "flow" was introduced by Mihály Csíkszentmihályi and means the certain mental state that brings energy, happiness and satisfaction from the work you are involved in.
In other words, the flow state makes you 100% focused on work without any effort and you are not tired afterwards, you are just inspired and you can't stop. It is not that easy to get into this, as your work has to be very meaningful to you, it might be your life purpose. It doesn't have to be something global or big, it could be some small skill that makes you feel it brings a value and keeps you happy.
As for my experience, I happened to be in this state before and I was craving to feel it again. First, I had it when I was a dancer and a choreographer. It's actually quite typical to have artists feeling the flow as they mostly choose their creative professions for a reason.
However, even if you are in a very creative, enjoyable field, you can still lose that inspiration at any time and just do it as a routine. This is the time, when you have to review and find new connections, maybe, new fields in the field or change it completely if you feel so.
At the same time, there are people, who just engage in not commonly proved interesting work, but they enjoy it, they put their heart into it and find the flow there.
I found a joy in running cleaning company lately, because I looked at my job from a different angle, from an angle of changing people's lives by decluttering their spaces, maintain their homes and workspaces and save their valuable time for themselves. Since I connected to that idea, I could not stop thinking and expanding it at different levels of the company, inspiring my employees and clients.
Before, it was about cleaning, supplies, vacuums, dirt, - now it is about bringing the message into the community of how to declutter the mind by decluttering the space around. This message itself also brings out another global problem, which is overconsumption, so by putting deeper meaning into cleaning, we also motivate people to be more conscious about shopping. It is quite natural to think in this direction, as soon as you clear your space from everything you don't use.
I now have a joke about it: I call my company - a personal development cleaning company. This is my way to stay in the flow.
